As you can see from the map of Australia, The Tweed region is located on the far North coast of NSW, right up near the border with Queensland. So although the Tweed is actually located in New South Wales, if flying in from overseas it's closer to land at Brisbane airport, hire a car and make the 90 minute journey south.

If you are already in Sydney then the best thing to do is fly to Gold Coast airport which is literally only 5 minutes over the border from the Tweed region.

If you decide to drive from Sydney please be aware that it takes approximately 9 hours, allowing for rest stops.

It is recommended that you take an overnight stop in the Bellingen area. A pretty town approximately half way, this will ensure that you arrive in the beautiful Tweed region relaxed and safe
